Questions we face in suffering

Are you carrying grief, illness, loneliness or disappointment? Do you wonder whether anyone understands or whether God cares? Where can you turn when you cannot change what has happened or see a way forward?

Jesus invites the weary to come to Him

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28 NIV

You can bring your sorrow and questions to Jesus. His invitation offers rest for your soul, even while difficulties remain. The Saviour who suffered understands human pain and invites you to come to Him.

Find forgiveness and new life in Christ

The Gospel also addresses our deepest need: peace with God.

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 3:23 NIV

Every one of us needs God’s forgiveness. Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again, providing the salvation we could never earn through good deeds.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 NIV

God’s invitation is personal: turn from sin and believe in Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Receive Him and rely on His saving work for your forgiveness.

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”
John 1:12 NIV

Receiving Christ brings you into God’s family. Your suffering does not make you less worthy of care; Romans 3:23 describes everyone’s need for forgiveness, rather than identifying a cause for your particular pain.
